As Christians, when we perceive or realize that we are “called to” something, we tend to launch ourselves into a search for what we are “supposed to do” in order to answer this call (Cf. Mk 10.17). Participants in this Keynote address will be led in 1) contemplating the Gospel to shift our gaze away from “I” or “we” to the face of Christ; and 2) thinking anew, with the help of the Holy Spirit, about the impact that this shift can have on us as the Body of Christ in a renewed engagement of Jesus’ mission of mercy and compassion.

Sister Marie-Kolbe Zamora is member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity (Diocese of Green Bay) and holds a doctorate in dogmatic theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University. She served as both professor and dean of Theology at what was Silver Lake College of the Holy Family. She has taught / written in every area of systematic theology and lent much energy to the theological formation of lay parish leaders and the young Sisters in her congregation for the New Evangelization and Synodality. In 2021 she was recruited to join the staff of the General Secretariat of the Synod, where she currently serves as theologian.
