This session will explore the surprising affinities between the tradition of the saints and two major figures from contemporary popular culture: the superhero and rapper. Often coming from marginalized and disenfranchised backgrounds, these figures are frequently voices--like the saints and prophets--for the poor and needy. They expose the injustices of the world while envisioning a better future of justice and equality.
