“I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth…” Millions of Catholics profess these words every Sunday, but often are not aware of the way that the Church has taught us to understand them. In light of Big Bang cosmology, evolutionary theory and the advances of biology, do we still believe in divine creation? In this talk we will consider the four "marks" of the Christian doctrine of creation, and how modern science allows us to perceive their relevance in a new and deeper way.
Chris Baglow leads the Science & Religion Initiative through creating programs, courses, talks, and publications that bring the Catholic faith and modern science into dialogue. His work is the culmination of 18 years of faith and science scholarship and educational program creation, as well as a lengthy career in Catholic theological education spanning high-school, undergraduate, graduate and seminary teaching.
