Pastoral care providers are called to be instruments of hope and compassion in the “field hospital” that is our Church, an image of Church preferred by Pope Francis. Understanding factors that influence the human condition, especially the power of love and fear, informs our ability to respond to others with greater sensitivity and compassion. Dr. Lombardi will share how love increases certain capacities with which we have been endowed.
Dr. Josephine Lombardi is an award winning author and educator. She has worked in a variety of ministerial settings and is the founder of the Experts in Humanity Project(R). She has facilitated retreats and workshops throughout North America. She is the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Systematic and Pastoral Theology for the University of Toronto, Canada.
