4-06: Renewing the Spiritual Heart for Catholic Educators and Catechists: Jesus

As the "heart" of our faith, Jesus must be at the core of the formation we offer to our Catholic educators and catechists. And we have so much to learn not only from what Jesus taught but how he taught as well. His ministry is described as "teaching" over 150 times in the Gospels; he was truly a master pedagogue. Let us renew the spiritual "heart" of our own teaching by sitting again at the feet of Jesus - the Teacher.

Thomas Groome is a long serving and widely acclaimed Professor of Theology and Religious Education at Boston College. He has written as many as ten books, the latest being, "What Makes Education Catholic" (Orbis, 2021). He has traveled widely, lecturing in some 25 different countries and his writings have been translated into many languages.
