Today's paradigm envisions the parish as a “center of evangelization.” It is based on a model of parish life that developed last century. Pastoral leadership attempts to get as many people “involved” in ministries and connected to “parish life” as possible. Ministries are centrally run by pastoral leadership, which leads to burnout of leadership and laity. This paradigm has proven unfruitful for the leavening of society. A new paradigm is needed.
Peter Andrastek has worked for the Church since 2003. His experience includes providing clergy formation, teaching theology at the graduate and seminary level, and extensive advising at the both the parish and diocesan levels. Peter currently advises a team that serves over 150 ministries around the world, including dioceses, parishes, missionaries, seminarians, and the U.S. Military. He lives in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin with his wife and eight children.
