Just starting in youth ministry and not sure where to start? Looking to renew, refresh or re-evaluate your ministry with young people? First Things in Youth Ministry is an online formation experience developed by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry. It is meant for any adult who is called to minister to, for and with youth of middle school and high school ages. Whether volunteer or paid, this formation not only provides participants with the foundational information for leading a comprehensive youth ministry (including Confirmation), but with a community of support as well.

FORMATION OVERVIEW

  • Presented by the Youth Ministry Team of the Los Angeles Archdiocese.
  • Developed by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM)
  • Includes a year associate membership to the NFCYM ($75 value)
  • 6 bi-weekly online sessions (2 hours) that allow you to build community with fellow peers in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles
  • Each session will have participant preparation prior to the session, groups discussions during the session, practical applications and opportunities to dive deeper. All materials are included
  • Zoom link for the sessions, reminders and communication will be done via Flocknote

  • June 10, 2024: First Things in Personal, Parish, and Diocesan Contexts of Youth Ministry
  • June 24, 2024: First Things to know about Comprehensive Youth Ministry
  • July 8, 2024: First Things to know about Young People, their Needs, and their Families
  • July 22, 2024: First Things in Volunteers and Safe Environments
  • August 5, 2024: First Things in Youth Ministry Programming
  • August 19, 2024: First Things in Budgeting and Fundraising

 

REGISTRATION:

  • $100 per person (scholarships are available and based on the need of the applicant)
  • Deadline to register is May 28, 2024

 

Online sessions will be held via Zoom. All communication as well as the zoom link will be sent via a Flocknote.
