6-03: Christ at the End of Life: Palliative Care as an Alternative to Physician-Assisted Suicide

Saturday, February 25 | Period 6 | 2:45pm - 4:00pm

How should Catholics respond to the increasing social acceptance of physician-assisted suicide? In this workshop we will review Catholic magisterial teaching concerning the end of life, the role of advance directives, and the importance of palliative care. The Catholic Church has a rich and compassionate tradition of how best to care for persons who are approaching the end of life: namely palliative care; and we will reflect together on how best to put this into practice.
