5-04: Developing a Renewed Ecclesial Imagination: Practicing Missionary Discipleship in its Fullest

Saturday, February 25 | Period 5 | 1:00pm - 2:15pm

This presentation takes a fresh look at the real inspiration behind the language of Missionary Discipleship and how ministry with young people needs to change as a result. The challenge of leaving comfortable programs and familiar classrooms is the real work of missionary discipleship. Using an autobiographical storytelling approach and a close examination of Scripture and Tradition, this session helps ministry leaders develop a new way of thinking about and doing church. This renewed ecclesial imagination is one where people of faith go out, encounter those who have fallen away, listen deeply to their needs and stories, and accompany one another to discern how best to create meaningful, welcoming, inclusive communities of faith.
