5-03: The Church Needs the Laity

Saturday, February 25 | Period 5 | 1:00pm - 2:15pm

The laity are not a decorative element of the church; they are constituitive of its very life and mission.

Past president of three Catholic universities, award-winning documentarian, biographer of Thomas Merton, Jean Vanier, and Henri Nouwen, as well as co-author of, "The Jesuit Mystique and Power and Peril", Dr. Michael Higgins is also a regular columnist and contributor to several publications, including Commonweal, The Tablet of London, and The Globe and Mail. he is currently under contract for a book on Pope Francis.
