Pope Francis has urged Catholics from around the world to "make more room for the voices of young people to be heard" (Christus Vivit, 38). There is much to learn from young people's wisdom and questions. Do we dare to listen to them? This workshop is an invitation to listen, particularly to young adult Latina and Latino Catholics. We will hear testimonies and life stories that carry hope as well as some necessary critiques. Together we will reflect about what happens when we listen to young people and discern pastoral implications to accompany them on their journey of faith.

Dr. Hosffman Ospino is a professor of Theology and Religious Education at Boston's College's School of Theology and Ministry, where he also chairs the Department of Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry. Dr. Ospino's research and writings focus on the conversation between faith and culture and the impact of this conversation in the processes of Christian education in the Church. He has been the principal investigator for several national studies on Hispanic Catholics and has published more than a dozen books.

Timothy Matovina is a Professor and Chairperson of the Theology Department at the University of Notre Dame. His most recent books include, "Theologies of Guadalupe: From the Era of Conquest to Pope Francis" and "Latino Catholicism: Transformation in America's Largest Church". His recent publication, (with Dr. Hosffman Ospino), is "Reflexiones: Hispanic Ministry and Young Latino Catholics: Stories of Faith". In addition to his scholarly work, Matovina offers presentations and workshops on U.S. Catholicism and Hispanic ministry and theology throughout the United States.
