Archbishop Savio Hon Tai-fai was born in Hong Kong and is a Salesian Priest of Don Bosco. He has a Doctorate in Theology and Philosophy and formerly served as professor (1983-2011), Provincial of China Province (2000-06), a member of the Pontifical Academy of Theology (since 1999), a member of the International Theological Commission (2004-14), and appointed Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples (2010-17). He is currently the Apostolic Nuncio to Malta and Libya.
