The kerygma is the proclamation that cuts to the heart of the Christian message, and likewise, cuts to the heart of the hearer. The kerygma cannot be confined to catechesis or liturgical preaching. The Good News that Jesus forgives, heals, and liberates is to be announced in the context of any relationship through conversation or prayer with others. This workshop will equip you to proclaim the Good News into the bad news in people's lives.
Fr. Parker Sandoval was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in 2015. He served as Associate Pastor of Resurrection Church in Boyle Heights and then as Coordinator of Adult Faith Formation in the Office of Religious Education. He currently serves as Vice Chancellor and Senior Director of Ministerial Services of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. His passion is the ministry of the word.
Eddie Perez is a husband, father of three, and Catholic Evangelist. He has extensive experience in bringing others to Christ and is sought after as a speaker in numerous dioceses. He is living out his calling as the Evangelization Spanish Coordinator for the Office of New Evangelization and Parish Life in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Eddie loves to share God’s presence with others and hopes to be a vessel of God’s grace wherever he goes!
Katie Tassinari is the Associate Director for the Office of New Evangelization and Parish Life (ONEPL) in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Pastoral Ministry from St. John’s Seminary. Her experiences in Youth Ministry, Young Adult Ministry, Liturgy, Faith Formation and Parish Pastoral Ministry has prepared her to accompany parishes as they reimagine parish life.
