3-05: Eucharistic Devotion after Vatican II

Friday, February 24 | Period 3 | 2:45pm - 4:00pm

While Eucharistic devotions remain an important source of spiritual nourishment after Vatican II, their current practice does not always align with the theologies and pastoral directives embedded in that document. This presentation will demonstrate the need to extract theologies, spiritualities and pastoral practices from the reformed celebration of the Eucharistic Liturgy. In particular, we will focus on key aspects of the reformed Order of Mass such as its ecclesial and missiological trajectories. This will allow us to shape easily adaptable pastoral practices that exhibit a marked integrity and continuity between eucharistic devotions and the Eucharistic liturgy that is to be its source and summit.
