The communion of the Church runs right through death, but when it comes to loving our own faithful departed, we often encounter separation more than communion. In the midst of that sense of separation, the saints usher in the gift of communion. We will follow the saints into a pilgrimage of longing, prayer, and desire, in search of renewed communion with our faithful departed. This session is for everyone: leaders, educators, all the faithful.

Leonard DeLorenzo, Ph.D., is Professor of the Practice in the McGrath Institute for Church Life and Department of Theology at the University of Notre Dame. He is the author of ten books including, "Our Faithful Departed: Where They Are and Why It Matters" (Ave Maria Press, 2022). DeLorenzo is the creator and host of the popular radio show and podcast "Church Life Today". He also speaks nationally and internationally in pastoral and academic settings.
