You need the Church, though. The temptation of any pastoral worker is to think that we can save the Church through our many activities. This can make us lose sight of the fact that it is the Church which is saving us. In this session we will reflect on three images from the gospels to rightly calibrate our approach to apostolic activity.

Dr. Ben Akers, STD, STL, is the Chief Content Officer at the Augustine Institute which serves the formation of Catholics through academic and parish programs. He oversees FORMED.org, Amen App, Catholic prayer and meditation app, and Word of Life K-8 Curriculum Project. He is an Associate Professor of Theology at the Augustine Institute Graduate School of Theology teaching classes on scripture, catechesis, and Christian discipleship.  He received his doctorate in Sacred Theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome, Italy.
