“When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites!” (Matthew 6) It’s hard to understand how some churches can appear to be hypocritical when we compare the mandates of the Jesus to church operation. Many churches transform from houses of worship into places of business. Are we the Church that Jesus calls us to be?This workshop will explore our ministry to God’s Beloved while staying viable in the world. Today, Jesus is saying, “You can Pray with me, but don't Play with me!"
Fr. Tony Ricard is a Priest for the Archdiocese of New Orleans and is the Campus Minister at St. Augustine High School in New Orleans. He is the Pastor of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish and is an Instructor of Church Doctrine and Youth Ministry for the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University of Louisiana. He also serves as the Catholic Chaplain of the New Orleans Saints. He has written several awesome books which include “Don’t Be Stupid! Lessons You Should Know."
