The Joy of Accompaniment Training
Thursdays July 20, 27, and August 3, 10, 17, and 24, 2023
From 7 to 9 PM
The Joy of Accompaniment training is formation in the "Art of Accompaniment" to which Pope Francis calls all ministers in the Church.
The Church will have to initiate everyone – priests, religious and laity – into this “art of accompaniment” which teaches us to remove our sandals before the sacred ground of the other (cf. Ex 3:5).
The training format is hybrid, consisting of asynchronous work, online work via Moodle, our online learning management system, and six weeks two-hour zoom integration sessions.
Each week will include a series of guided reflections based on The Joy of the Gospel, Christus Vivit, Gaudete et Exsultate exhortations and the Art of Accompaniment text byColleen Campbell and Thomas Carani.
“Spiritual accompaniment is the apostolate of intentional relationship that is oriented toward a definitive direction of growth in holiness and transformation in the person of Christ.”
